Card payments

Learners pay your business directly through Stripe. Stripe’s standard fee for a UK card, about 1.5% plus 20p, comes out of each payment. Doovor takes nothing from lessons with your own learners, and learners never pay extra for paying by card.

Fees for cards from outside the UK are set by Stripe and can be higher.

Questions

How many learners does Free carry?: 10 at a time: the ones you are teaching, waiting or with a test booked. An enquiry that went nowhere, somebody who has passed and somebody who has left are not counted, and nobody is ever taken off your books. Pro carries as many as you like.
What does the founding offer include?: The paid plan for your business, free for 1 year: Pro for independent instructors, and the School plan for driving schools, the school’s own fee and every instructor’s. It is open to the first 100 instructors and the first 50 schools.
How is the School plan priced?: £15 a month for the school and £6 for each instructor teaching there, linked instructors included, or £150 and £60 a year. Invitations still waiting and anybody switched off are not counted.
Can a school work with instructors who run their own business?: Yes. A linked instructor keeps their own business, learners, prices and payments, and has Pro while linked, as one of the school’s instructors. The school can send them pupils, recommend prices with a most they can charge, and charge them a weekly or monthly fee.
What if the founding places have gone?: You still start on the paid plan free, with no card needed: 90 days for the next 500 businesses, and 30 days after that. We will tell you well before it ends.
Does the price come down if I stay?: Yes. Every 3 months you keep paying takes another 5% off your price, up to 30% after 18 months. If you leave and come back, it starts again.
What do I get for telling another instructor?: 1 month of the paid plan free for every instructor who starts their business from your link, with nothing to claim: your link is in the app, under More.
Do learners pay anything to use it?: No. Learners pay for their lessons, at the price their instructor sets, and nothing more.
Who holds the money?: Your business does. Card payments go to your own Stripe account, and packages of hours are credit with your business only. Doovor never holds learners’ money.
Can I record cash and bank transfers?: Yes, on every plan, in two taps, and the learner’s balance updates straight away.
